Science is a subject that lends itself to Hands-On, inquiry-based learning. Students in my science classes do experiments, activities, and engineering challenges the majority of the time. They learn vocabulary words and science concepts through doing science, not just reading about it. If you look at the expressions on student faces, you will see excitement, wonder, and intense concentration. Students frequently work in groups, where each student is assigned a role which he or she must carry out so the group can be successful.
