About MEI teach upper elementary math and science for Akron-Fairgrove Elementary. I have been teaching there since 2008. Prior to that, I taught in North Carolina for a year, and in Saginaw for a year. My passions are math and science, and I LOVE what I do!
I constantly seek out new opportunities, and in 2014 I attended the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy in New Jersey to learn more about teaching math and science. In 2015, I attended Honeywell Educators at Space Academy in Huntsville, Alabama where I learned how to incorporate space science into my curriculum and met people from all over the world. In 2016, I wrote a MI-STEM grant to create an elementary Maker Space and Science Lab, so that our younger students can have a designated space for exploring science concepts. |
Education |
I am originally from Ubly, where I graduated in 1998. I attended SVSU on a full scholarship and received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree in Teaching Natural Science.

My Family |
I am married and have 2 daughters, Adriana and Jami. I also have 3 sons, André from Germany, Francesco from Italy, and Antonio from Spain. Opening my home to foreign exchange students has opened my eyes to the greater world around me. I have learned SO MUCH from this experience. I consider myself a lifelong learner, one who is not satisfied with staying the same. Learning about how other countries educate their children is very intriguing to me.
